Hi, I’m Zarmina.

I completed my BA in Psychology at Western University, followed by my MEd in Counselling & Psychotherapy at the University of Toronto (OISE). I have 7+ years of clinical experience in the mental health field in various settings including community health agencies, non profit organizations, hospitals, and private practice. I have always focused on supporting those that have typically been underrepresented or excluded from traditional healthcare services including immigrants, women, racialized folks, and members of the LGBTQI2AS+ community. Coming from a place of equity, my aim is to create inclusive and strengths-based spaces where individuals can feel safe, supported, and empowered to heal.

As an immigrant and South Asian woman, my therapy, content development, and consulting work is always grounded in my own intersectionality and lived experiences. Taking an intersectional approach, I believe that mental health and wellness can’t be understood without a consideration of the historical, political, economic, and social factors that influence us. Working within an intergenerational perspective with a special interest in immigration trauma and the immigrant identity, I understand how the communities and systems we belong to play a crucial role in both our pain and our healing.

Getting support for your mental health doesn’t have to be hard. I’m here to help.
